If your application is slow there is a good chance that you should look at your indexes but what are indexes? How do they work? When should you use them? In this practical talk filled with real life examples we'll take a look at different types of indexes MongoDB supports and when and how to use them.
You'll learn about regular, compound, wildcard, and partial indexes, how they work, and when they should be used. You'll learn about rules of thumb for indexes and when not to apply such rules.

MongoDB's comprehensive suite of developer tools is designed to integrate seamlessly into your development and testing workflows. From the Atlas CLI for effortless database management to powerful IDE extensions in IntelliJ and VS Code, equipped with AI assistant - GitHub Copilot — MongoDB meets developers where they work. The MongoDB Model Context Protocol (MCP) server elevates this experience by bringing deep schema awareness directly into your IDE, enabling intelligent, model-aligned code suggestions and faster, more accurate query development.
With Docker support, you can easily run local MongoDB instances for consistent and isolated testing in CI environments. This session will demonstrate how MongoDB MCP and integrated tools to help you streamlines the entire software development lifecycle, empowering you to deliver the applications of the future, today.
Speaker: Minmin Du, Senior Solutions Architect, MongoDB
Legacy modernization projects often fail. Some are merely lift-and-shift migrations from one RDBMS to another, leaving applications just as complex, costly, and difficult to adapt to evolving business needs. Others pursue true modernization, such as microservice architectures, but get bogged down by the challenges of paying down technical debt—like business logic trapped in stored procedures and outdated technology stacks. In this session, you will learn how MongoDB's Modernization Factory leverages a GenAI-powered approach to rapidly modernize legacy applications. By the end, you'll walk away with the knowledge to streamline your modernization journey and transform your application architecture to meet long-term business needs.

Agentic AI is changing how we interact with business applications, how we architect for them, and altering technology portfolio investment strategies. This session will break down the changing data architecture landscape with the goal of empowering the next generation of IT decision makers and architects, as they steer their own technology portfolios and agendas. This session will include retail examples, but is broadly applicable to other industries.
Speaker: Ben Karciauskas, Senior Solutions Architect, MongoDB
The rise of AI-generated fraud, synthetic identities, and deepfake attacks has created significant business risks, while traditional KYC and verification methods burden users with time-consuming processes and impose expensive operational costs on businesses.Conventional fraud prevention approaches are insufficient for these dual challenges, making secure and efficient digital identity solutions essential.
The next generation of digital signing uses Verifiable Credentials (VCs), such as digital driver licenses (mDL). These credentials provide cryptographically secure verification that can replace outdated identity methods, allowing for flexible, step-up verification based on the necessary level of assurance. The use of VCs for digital signing not only enhances security but also simplifies the signing process, making it more convenient for both parties. At Lumin, we want to enable our customers to sign documents using VCs, enhancing security and convenience.Â
Speaker: Joel Foster, Chief Commercial Officer, LuminÂ
