If your application is slow there is a good chance that you should look at your indexes but what are indexes? How do they work? When should you use them? In this practical talk filled with real life examples we'll take a look at different types of indexes MongoDB supports and when and how to use them.
You'll learn about regular, compound, wildcard, and partial indexes, how they work, and when they should be used. You'll learn about rules of thumb for indexes and when not to apply such rules.

MongoDB's Application Modernization Factory program enables organizations to rapidly modernize an estate of legacy applications to a modern architectures on MongoDB leveraging GenAI. The program involves creating a software factory defined by people, processes, and GenAI tools to transform and refactor application code, to eliminate technical debt (e.g., unmaintainable business logic encapsulated in stored procedures) and to migrate data and business logic. The benefits are an modern application estate that is significantly less costly to run and maintain thereby freeing resources to focus on building application functionality to improve customer engagement, innovation, GenAI, and obtain a competitive advantage.
Joerg Schmuecker, CXO Advisory at MongoDB
Text Search and Vector Search can be intimidating with their perceived complexity. This session shows you how to build your own text search and vector search functions inside MongoDB. After this session you can easily reproduce your own solution at home.

HANDS-ON LAB, LAPTOP REQUIRED, SKILL BADGE
You'll need your laptop to fully participate in this hands-on session.
Join us for this hands-on data modeling workshop where we’ll explore common MongoDB schema design patterns and learn how to avoid antipatterns. You’ll get first-hand experience with the following patterns:
• Extended reference
• Computed
• Inheritance
We’ll also cover common schema design antipatterns:
• Unbounded arrays
• Bloated documents
You’ll learn not only how to identify these antipatterns but also why they can be detrimental to your database’s performance.
During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to earn the Schema Design Patterns and Antipatterns MongoDB skill badge that you can add to your LinkedIn profile.

Want to learn how to build a RAG-based AI chatbot? You are in the right place! In this workshop, you will learn foundational concepts of RAG systems, including chunking, embedding, and semantic search. You will also apply what you learn by building an end-to-end, RAG-based chatbot using MongoDB Atlas and open-source LLMs.
We will provide you with all of the resources you need to successfully execute the hands-on portions of the workshop, including a GitHub repository consisting of notebook templates with pseudocode. You will replace comments and/or pseudocode in the templates with your own code during the workshop.
During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to earn the “RAG with MongoDB” skill badge that you can add to your LinkedIn profile.
